Method Book Series

A good method book is the backbone of music lessons. It sets the order in which skills are learned, gives students music they want to play and gives teachers a clear path from the first lesson to the next level. This section collects the method series that private teachers and school music programs use most.

For piano there are Faber Piano Adventures, Alfred, Bastien and Schaum, covering young beginners through adult learners with matching theory, technique and performance books. Band and orchestra directors will find Essential Elements, Tradition of Excellence, Standard of Excellence, Accent on Achievement, Sound Innovations and Foundations for Superior Performance, with student books for every instrument plus conductor scores. String teachers can shop the Suzuki books, and guitar teachers the guitar methods.

Most series number their books (Book 1, Book 2, Level 2A and so on), so it is easy to see what comes next. Every order ships for a flat $5.99.
