What Cross Is This?

What cross is this upon that hill? Standing yet, but bare and still? Depiction of True Love fulfilled, what cruel cross is this? This mournful setting brings to a climax all the pathos and passion of the Lenten season. Christ’s entire life led up to this moment — that solemn cross upon the hill — the cross that was placed on a simple man from Galilee. The same cross on which the King of Glory died.
