While practicing the piano one day, Kelsey turned to her father and asked “Why can’t I ever play anything like this?” and immediately improvised the first 10 measures of Toccatina Twister. E. L. took her idea and expanded it to a 58-measure, late elementary solo written in D minor. Students move around the keyboard in a variety of 5-finger patterns as the piece twists and turns. Both staccato and legato touches are used, making this solo a good technical study as well.
