Considered one of the leading composers of the Soviet school of composition (along with Prokofiev and Shostakovich), Aram Khachaturian composed this march specifically for wind band in 1942, the title being in reference to World War II. This arrangement by William Berz is intended as a performance edition using instrumentation common to today’s concert band/wind ensemble in the United States. Every effort has been made to maintain the integrity of the original work resulting in an important addition to the wind band repertoire. Dur: 4:00 (Grade 4)
