Smooth legato and accurate counting are important in this delightful, lyrical work. Some extension work is required in the violins. Bow speeds and divisions should be carefully considered in all parts. Left-hand fingers should be firm, for a clear, ringing pizzicato. There are many opportunities to practice vibrato on sustained notes. A piano part is included but is not essential. (2:40)
