Written with the melody divided between the hands, the thumbs are on adjacent white keys, Middle C (left hand) and D (right hand). This creates a hand position that is easy to maintain and alleviates the problem of the thumbs sharing Middle C. Simple rhythm patterns in 4/4 meter are repeated throughout the melody, providing opportunities for reinforcing counting and keeping a steady beat. The optional teacher duet creates a fun and lively addition to the solo.
