Romantic guitarist and composer Francisco Tárrega was born in Spain on November 21st 1852. He was trained at the Madrid Conservatory where he studied composition and was proficient on both guitar and piano. Through his compositions and unique sound, he is considered to have established the foundations for 20th century classical guitar and for increasing interest in the guitar as a recital instrument.
