Written in “perpetual motion” style, the running sixteenth notes seem to be endless in this “Presto con fuoco” composition for the more advanced student. It is played very fast, but also “lightly” through most of the song, and very “marcato.” There are numerous grace notes, legato against staccato between the hands, a wide use of chromaticism and other scale work over the entire keyboard.
