Fantasia and Fugue in G minor

One of the many great masterpieces by J.S. Bach, these transcribed organ works (known as ‘The Great’ Fugue) are wonderful pieces to hear and play. Carefully edited for the colors available in wind bands, the works (most likely independently composed) offer lush chorales, hints of chromaticism, and, of course, the exciting dovetailing of many voices as the classic fugue unwinds until, finally, it concludes in a welcome cadence.
