This lovely composition, which focuses on legato playing from all sections, was originally titled Serenade for Summer. It was composed as a tribute to a young girl who met with an untimely death and is intended to show two realities: the sorrow at her passing and the joy that her youthful spirit will survive. While devoid of false sentimentality, the composition touches the hope in all of us that we, too, will be remembered for our influence upon the lives of others. Technically not demanding, this will allow you to focus on your band’s tone quality, balance and blend.
