This is a very easy and straightforward piece in D major, using repeated eighth and quarter notes. All sections of the orchestra are sure to be kept busy. Whole bows should be used for quarter note passages and middle to upper half for repeated notes and faster rhythms. Dynamics should be well contrasted when required. This piece is dedicated to the composer’s twin nieces, on the occasion of their 10th birthday–hence the title–Double Trouble!
