There are 26 standard drum rudiments. Anyone determined to learn the art and science of drumming would do well to learn to properly execute all 26. The rudiments are the first principles of drumming. They are the A, B, C’s. They are stick control patterns that should be played according to the standards set by the National Association of Rudimental Drummers (NARD). It makes no difference as to what style a drummer desires to play: classical, jazz, rock or parade.
This handy 4-page chart presents all 26 rudiments written out and also recorded so players can hear a demonstration of each. In addition, there’s a bonus song by the editor that is comprised of six of the 26 rudiments for students to play.
