An Early English Christmas

Two lovely English carols are paired together to create a very mature sounding arrangement for young players. After a brief introduction the flute section plays “What Child is This?” with a light accompaniment. The full ensemble soon enters for a rich rendition of this classic carol. “The Coventry Carol” is then presented by the flutes and clarinets in 3/4 meter before shifting to a more dramatic 4/4 maestoso for full band.
