An der Schönen Blauen Donau (On the Beautiful Blue Danube), Op. 314, written by Johann Strauss II (1825-1899) is one of the most popular works in classical music, and remains well-known in popular culture. Written in 1866, it premiered on February 15 of the following year in Vienna at a Wiener Männergesangsverei concert, Strauss conducting. It has been arranged for different ensembles numerous times, and it has been used in everything from Warner Brothers cartoons to major science fiction films to video game scores.
