This cheerful solo in 4/4 meter gives students the opportunity to move the right hand to different octaves while keeping the left hand in a C major five-finger position. Written in A-B-A form, the right-hand melody in the A section features a C major five-finger position with F-sharp as well as F-natural. In the B section, the right hand moves to an F Lydian position. In the return of the A section, the right hand is written one octave higher. A four-measure coda completes the piece with the left hand playing a rhythmic “cha-cha-cha” with a fifth built on low C.
